Silicon Carbide Exports Began Showing Signs of Recovery

As most of foreign consumers are about to run out of their inventories, many silicon carbide manufacturers think that the export market of silicon carbide has shown some signs of recovery and become more active. Recently, some suppliers have made an order about 200 tons, including silicon carbide grade one whose turnover has increased than in August.

One supplier from Ningxia says that now the price of the export license is 1000 RMB/tons or so, and the current export prices have also been exactly low now. The supplier has clinched a deal about 100 tons of silicon carbide grade one recently, FOB, Tianjin port, 1050-1100 dollars/ton. According to different particle size, the prices are different.

He also says, the CIF of 98 # silicon carbide particle size sand F16-90 is stable at 6100-6200 RMB/ton, because the production cost has kept stable in the current level, and the dropping space of silicon carbide prices is limited.

Another supplier from Henan also thinks the export volume increased in the middle of September, active than before. Their foreign customers have began restocking some inventories. Some have prepared for the production of the following two months. Because some will face fiscal year settlement in December, the purchasing amount will be reduced." 

It is said that the Ministry of Commerce is to tender about 12000 tons of silicon carbide, but the one says this will not affect the export price of silicon carbide to a great extent. The market prices of export license have been basically kept stable at 800-1000 RMB/ton, and the prices for silicon carbide grade one and green silicon carbide micro powder are a little higher.

The supplier also predicts that their existing export quotas cannot satisfy the demand of export orders, so he would like to see the second batch of export quotas.
