Green Manufacturing

The abrasives industry is energy consuming and causes heavy pollution. To implement the government policy of energy saving and environmental protection, China's machine tool industry practices green manufacturing and harmonious development of human and the environment.

Currently, major research of machine tool industry in China includes green design technology research, reconfigurable technology research, all life cycle development technology research, and CNC machine tool energy saving technology research, etc. To achieve these purposes, three things should be taken into account.

1. Adjust industry structure and eliminate outdated production capacity.

Development policies are essential for China to become a country with powerful manufacturing industry. Both development of the industry and progress of companies require strategic development plans which help structural adjustment and transformation of development modes. Besides that, the core ability of companies' competence should be improved.

2. Enhance independent innovation and increase input in scientific research.

Bring in advanced technology and human resources and conduct more research in medium and high-end products. For example, the key point of abrasives is further processing, while the increasing demand of photovoltaic industry, engineering ceramics, high-end refractory material market should be met.

3. Facilitate green manufacturing.

The term "green manufacturing" can be looked at in two ways: the manufacturing of green products, particularly those used in renewable energy systems and clean technology equipment of all kinds, and the "greening" of manufacturing - reducing pollution and waste by minimizing natural resource use, recycling and reusing what was considered waste, and reducing emissions. Therefore, companies are encouraged to learn new techniques to maintain circular economy and promote green manufacturing.
