Definition of Diamond Band Saw and Diamond Wire Saw in Abrasive Products

In abrasive products, the basic shape of diamond band saw is similar to the woodworking band saw of sawing wood, whose difference is that diamond band saw has welded diamond saw at the side of the steel strip-the rectangle shape (length x width x height = 3mm x 2.5mm x 2.5mm) or other shapes (φ6 x 2.5mm). Welding two end of steel strip to form a closed ring, that is why it is called band saw.

Its main difference with gang saw is that the matrix is the flexible steel band, which not only requires diamond welding and firmly binding, but also hopes that it can rotate and bend like belt. Generally, band saw is thin (the thickness in 1.0 ~ 2.0mm) and long (about 5 ~ 8 m), which is made by electroplating.

Band sawing machine is horizontal. Diamond band saw is installed in the special band saw machine and bypass two large diameter flywheels, one of which is the driving wheel. By adjusting the distance between two wheels to hold band saw blade tightly, the driving wheel will rotate and make band saw work for cutting.

Band saw is mainly used as the shut-off of graphite electrode, and also used for special stone cutting. The diamond tooth of band saw can't be made too big because band saw needs to do flexible movement around the flywheel. If the tooth is too big, it will break at the welded junction when bending.

Diamond wire saw is originally made for stone mining, used in mining stone block and cutting stone. Its method is: firstly, to drill on the quarry face; secondly, to make the strong saw into the hole, thirdly, the two ends are bonded; fourthly, to set it in the engine belt wheels and then it can cut stone. Compared with the blasting method, it is quick, neat and smooth, with no internal injury etc, especially suitable for natural decorative pattern stone.
